Staff Profile: Mr. C. Lyons

Mr. C. Lyons

Primary Class Teacher, 5E

Mr Lyons graduated from St. Patrick’s College in Dubin with a B.ED degree, before teaching in a disadvantaged primary school in Dublin for 6 years.  He then travelled to the Middle East to work in Nord Anglia’s Compass International School, in Doha, Qatar, for a further four years.

He has served as ICT coordinator in both his previous schools

I am a very passionate and committed teacher with over ten years experience in teaching children of all ages, abilities and needs.

Since I began my career, I have had responsibility for various subjects including Maths, Humanities and ICT, while also coaching school sports teams in soccer, Gaelic football and basketball.  I have also lead Residential Trips in my previous school in Qatar which I really enjoyed.

I firmly believe in challenging children to their limits and encouraging them to become independent and enthusiastic learners. Children thrive in a fun and memorable environment, and I ensure my classroom provides this atmosphere.

Outside of school, I am a huge sports fan. I mostly play Gaelic football (an Irish sport) and soccer. I hope to join the local Gaelic football club in Hong Kong (yes – there is one in Hong Kong), and will continue to support Liverpool FC fanatically in soccer, as well as trying to play a bit myself too. I also love to travel and read.
