In my classroom I strive to ensure I create a positive, working environment where pupils feel safe, supported, challenged and valued. I have a huge enthusiasm for my subject and strive to encourage this in the young people I teach.
I am very excited to be coming to work at NAIS. I love teaching music and enjoy being able to share all the extra- curricular opportunities my subject has to offer. In my current school I run a variety of after-school clubs such as Junior and Senior School Bands and Soul Band, as well as organising various music events and concerts throughout the school year. I enjoy seeing the achievement young people can experience through performance and believe music is a great tool in helping to build confidence in other areas.
I enjoy contributing to whole school community and have led a number of whole school initiatives and events such as a recent IDL topic, Senior School Careers Events and a number of residential trips including three European ski trips.
In my spare time I enjoy playing flute and saxophone in various bands and ensembles and I hope to be able to continue this in Hong Kong. I also love travelling, sport and keeping active and I am very excited to explore Hong Kong and the surrounding areas.
