During my first four years teaching I have taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics at GCSE level, and have been appointed to a variety of different roles including Acting Head of Chemistry, Gifted and Talented Coordinator and Deputy Head of House.
I have high expectations of pupils within my lessons and strive to ensure they are constantly challenged and engaged. I regularly use practical investigations to develop skills and traits such as organisational qualities, problem solving and attention to detail.
Alongside teaching science I have been able to dedicate a lot of my time to areas of education that occur away from the classroom environment. I have arranged for a group of pupils to attend the annual Science Live event and provided weekly support and advice for pupils completing CREST Award projects coordinated by the British Science Association. I also managed, coached and refereed/umpired the Year 8 and Year 9 football and cricket teams, and am a FA accredited football coach.
Outside of work I am an extremely active individual and play football and golf on regular basis. I also enjoy running and hiking and I am excited to explore the areas of natural beauty which surround Hong Kong’s downtown.
