Mr. C. Cunningham

C. Cunningham

Balmoral D House Tutor & French / Spanish Teacher

Mr Cunningham graduated from Caledonian University with a BA (Hons) in European Business Studies.  He worked for a financial institution for three years before completing his PGDE at University of Strathclyde and graduated in 2005.  He began his teaching career at Hamilton Grammar in South Lanarkshire, Scotland, where he worked for 9 years before becoming Head of Department at Caldervale HS, North Lanarkshire, Scotland in 2014.

Throughout my career I have taken part in numerous development opportunities and have developed a particular interest in Assessment is for Learning, Visible Learning and Growth Mindset.  I ensured that all pupils in my care feel nurtured, included, challenged and supported.  I have high expectations of pupils and encourage them to be the best that they can be at all times.  I create lessons which are engaging, motivating and help pupils to develop the skills they will require for the world of work.  I promote a positive ethos of respect, understanding and compassion for others.

I am very much looking forward to working with the pupils, parents and staff of NAIS and I hope to make a positive contribution to an already very successful school. Out of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, playing football and trying to play golf!
