Mr. J. Latif

Mr. J. Latif

Head of Business Studies and Economics, Balmoral D House Tutor

Mr Latif is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh from which he attained his degree and his teacher training qualification which he achieved with a Merit.

He is a confident, enthusiastic person with a genuine passion and desire for improving the education standards of young people.

He has a large amount of teaching experience attained both in his home country of Scotland and three years as head of department in China primarily gained in teaching pupils between 12-18 years old.

He is really passionate about his subject and wants his students to enjoy the subject and his lessons.  Mr Latif believes lessons need to be fun, engaging, interactive and educational. As a teacher he believes his role should be able to help students get somewhere where they would not be able to get to without his help and dedicates and formulates his lessons to achieve this desired goal.

He believes to be a great teacher; you must be someone who is prepared to go above and beyond what a good teacher would do.

So, he believes his role in addition to teaching is to support and mentor students and to be involved in providing students with extra-curricular opportunities.

He is always happy to hear from his ex-pupils and feels a personal satisfaction in hearing about their post educational achievements and is always willing and able to continue to offer them any other advice they may require.

Mr Latif enjoys a variety of hobbies including football and he enjoys travelling.
