    Mr. S. MacKinnon

    Mr MacKinnon's professional qualifications include MSc (Management), BSc (Hons) (Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGDE) from the University of Glasgow. He is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and he has taught Key Stage 3 Science, IGCSE Science and the IB Diploma.

    Mr. A. Jennings

    Mr Jennings trained at the University of Manchester where he achieved first class honours in Medicinal Chemistry. Keen to develop his skills further he went on to complete a PGCSE in Chemistry at Manchester Metropolitan University. Mr Jennings joined NAIS HK in 2019 after teaching in the UK for 9 years, the last 4 as Head of Chemistry.

    Mr Jennings is passionate about teaching Science. He encourages students to embrace new opportunities and ways of learning. He is keen for students to be challenged to build resilience which is crucial for their progress. Mr Jennings also has a lot of experience is STEAM through his work and links in the UK. STEAM plays an integral role in pupil development at NAIS HK.

    Outside of school, Mr Jennings enjoys running and taking part in physical challenges. He also enjoys travelling and embracing new cultures and traditions. He enjoys film, theatre and relaxes by reading.

    Science Teacher

    Mr. S. Willshaw

    Mr Willshaw completed his PhD in Physics at the University of Manchester, UK in 2012.  An enthusiastic communicator of scientific ideas, he completed Postgraduate Certificate in Education at the University of Sunderland, UK in 2016 and has since been teaching internationally in mainland China and Hong Kong.

    Mr Willshaw is a passionate Science teacher who has had a keen interest in education since his own time at high school in Edinburgh, Scotland. A keen believer that students learn best through doing, he using simulations  and creative projects to help students understand the power of science in understanding how the world works. He also loves running cross-curricular activities such as the STEAM projects developed in collaboration with MIT.

    Outside of teaching, Mr Willshaw enjoys studying languages, speaking fluent German and Mandarin. He also takes part in athletic competitions, most recently the Beijing Olympic Triathlon. Mr Willshaws also makes use of his scientific brain by experimenting in the kitchen and trying to recreate the dishes he has had the good fortune to try on his travels around the globe.

    Ms. J. Boots

    Ms. Boots completed a Science Degree from the University of Sydney and then studied Education at Macquarie University. She has taught across a range of year groups in the high school and also enjoys working with primary students to foster their love of Science. Her teaching experience includes working in Sydney, Dubai, Munich and a fabulous year in Bhutan as a volunteer teacher with the Australian Red Cross. 

    Ms Boots loves all things Biology, particularly Genetics and Plants. She enjoys cooking, eating out, travel and exploring new places. She has been to 92 countries and is always looking for new recommendations!
