Volunteer at School
- VSPA's New Family and Volunteer Coordinator oversees parent volunteers for recurring opportunities, like working in the Used Uniform Store, or single events, like our school-wide festival, Viking Carnival. In addition, VSPA Vice Presidents (VPs) for Finna, Elementary, Middle, High School, and Residential Life, coordinate parent volunteers in their respective divisions as needed.
- Homeroom Parent (HRP)/Grade Parent (GP)
All Finna, Elementary and Middle School classes have Homeroom Parents (HRPs) and each year in the High School has a Grade Parent (GPs). HRPs fill a crucial role in the classroom. They are the liaison between the teacher and the other parents. First, as the teacher’s liaison, the HRP will assist in disseminating important class information and help to coordinate classroom parties/special events. Second, the HRP will assist the VSPA VP in disseminating information about upcoming VSPA events. It is vital that each classroom has a parent (or two parents) to fill this role.In High School, each GP organizes parents to meet for a grade-level coffee/lunch about once a semester and serves as administrator for a grade-level chat group. If you’re interested in becoming a HRP/GP, please contact your VSPA Vice President at vspa@thevillageschool.com.
