Recognizing the need for a cutting edge, innovative, and rigorous education that prepares students with the critical thinking, professional, and leadership skills to create and perform in the jobs of tomorrow and navigate the business trends of an ever-changing, global economy, The Village School is proud to launch the Entrepreneurship Diploma with Founding Partner Bridges to Wealth at The Wharton School.
The Village School students enter the Entrepreneurship Diploma at the beginning of their 11th grade year. The program focuses on teaching finance, leadership development, negotiations, decision-making, marketing, strategy, private equity and venture capital, money management and more. Within the Diploma, students can specialize in either the Engineering or Social Enterprise track. Both tracks are taught by industry-leading professionals and entrepreneurs, and expose students to the fundamentals of entrepreneurship.
Both tracks culminate in a Capstone project in which students develop a business idea to solve an identified community need. With mentorship, students practice and apply collaboration, interpersonal and entrepreneurial skills as they research, create, execute and evaluate their business idea. As part of their Capstone, students participate in a Pitch Night hosted by The Village School, which is open to their peers, parents, and Village community members.
