SAGE Dining Services is proud to be the catering provider at The Village School.

Our catering partner is SAGE Dining Services, a premier private school provider focussed on quality service, nutrition, sustainability, education and delicious food made from scratch using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.

A Program Built for Village

An on-site Chef designs a unique menu based on our needs and preferences. The program features fun events and special stations, the latest culinary trends and lots of variety to please all palates and meet a range of dietary needs.

Daily lunch features a variety of freshly made menu items, including a nourishing main dish with complementary sides; salad, deli, and soup options; creative food truck-style fare; authentic international cuisine; and expanded vegetarian and vegan selections.

 

Easy Nutrition Guidance

 

SAGE's All Foods Fit nutrition philosophy highlights how food supports children holistically, including physical, social, emotional, mental and cultural aspects. Aligning with this approach, the SAGE Spotlight Program fosters a positive relationship with food and provides nutrition guidance and education by using a color-coded system to help us create balanced, enjoyable meals. 

Food Allergy Management

SAGE provides expertise in allergy accommodations. All Team Members are extensively trained in food safety and allergen management. SAGE's Free Style concept offers dishes made without the 12 most common allergens.

Dining Services

Providing an exceptional dining experience is the primary goal of The Village School’s Dining Services. We strive to make our residential students’ dining experience the best it can be by providing excellent, high-quality, and nutritious food in a relaxed atmosphere at each meal, every day. We also provide opportunities for residential students to dine out occasionally as part of regularly scheduled social activities.

Breakfast

Breakfast is a highlight to start each day at The Village School. Both day students and residential students dine together and enjoy the chef’s creations such as scrambled eggs, buttermilk pancakes, French toast, bacon, sausage, and breakfast potatoes as well as specialty offerings such as Asian eggs and rice, breakfast tacos, an omelet bar and a make your own waffle bar. We also offer an assortment of bagels, cold cereals, breakfast pastries, and a fresh fruit bar that includes low-fat yogurt.

Lunch and Dinner

At lunch and dinner, the salad bar features a bountiful display of fresh vegetables, condiments, and proteins. Our chef prepares homemade soups served daily, and a variety of accompaniments. Our popular deli station features a variety of sandwich selections and cheeses, with an assortment of breads, rolls, and wraps. 

Students enjoy fresh sushi offered several days a week. Entrée specialties include items such as Norwegian salmon with saffron cream, Asian sesame chicken, beef enchiladas, pork and chicken pot stickers and shrimp jambalaya. Vegetarian options such as vegetable ettoufe’, stuffed shells with marinara, and vegetable egg rolls, are offered daily at both lunch and dinner.
