Welcome Back Village Family!
It seems like each year the break gets shorter and shorter, or maybe it’s just that the kids are getting older and I’m acutely aware that the time when they leave the nest and go off to college is drawing closer. Time can be a fickle friend.
This year at Village promises to be an exciting one, with the growth in the student population (did you know that we have over 50 nations represented on campus?) and of course the opening of the new student dormitory and athletic facility. I’m sure that if you hadn't been on campus over the summer the rate of progress, your first look would have been impressive. It seems that weekly there are major milestones being achieved in preparation for the grand opening.
As ever, we have our regular range of VSPA sponsored groups and activities, so please take the time to come and get involved in our community. It’s you that helps make this community an exciting and thriving one. I’m sure there is something to meet everyone’s taste, but just in the rare case there isn’t, it’s easy to start one. Just let me know and we can get things moving along.
Our Board has new members this year, which sadly means we say goodbye to friends who have done so much to enhance the school. Now while they have formally left the Board, it’s a testament to their character and commitment to the VSPA that they still are involved behind the scenes sharing their expertise and knowledge. We will have news on some exciting developments they have been working on once the details have been finalized, but for now I’d like to offer heartfelt thanks to them (you know who you are!).
So, the year has started, students are frantically adjusting their new schedules, adding and dropping classes, being the freshmen or the respective seniors in each division. We all look back on our school days with memories that genuinely last a lifetime, so enjoy these days, and come join with VSPA to help making those experiences quite simply outstanding.
