Knowledge on women's historical struggles is power

Celebrating International Women's Day

On Tuesday 8th of March, students at ICS joined millions of others worldwide in celebrating International Women’s Day 2022. This global day marks the importance of achieving and upholding gender equality.

This year’s theme was #BreakTheBias, and therefore aimed to highlight the importance of rupturing the prejudice that many women face on a daily basis, whether it be culturally, economically, or socially. In order to commemorate and celebrate achievements of women that are often overlooked, ICS students brought their tutor doors to life by decorating these around a particular woman and her accomplishments, whether these be historical or current. As seen in the photos, this activity resulted in some magnificent displays that managed to both celebrate and bring awareness to the strength and intelligence of women around the world. This event was coordinated by the Grade 11 Global Politics students.
