Nord Anglia International School Manila is proud to announce that it is now an ASDAN Registered Centre.

NAIS Manila firmly believes in providing its students with a rich environment of opportunities to harness their gifts and talents.  As an ASDAN Registered Centre, we ensure that we continue to offer the best options for learning and development for all abilities.

ASDAN, the Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network, is a “UK-based education charity and awarding body that provides programmes to more than 30 countries and territories across the world. ASDAN courses equip learners to thrive in 21st Century education, work and life.”

For the academic year 2020/21, NAIS Manila will be offering the following programmes:

The International Award Programs, which includes the International Bronze, Silver and Silver Challenge Awards. Learners choose challenges from 12 modules (Information handling; The community; Sport and leisure; Home management; The environment; Number handling; Health and survival; World of work; Technology; The wider world; Expressive arts; Beliefs and values). These awards provide opportunities to develop, record and certificate learners’ personal skills, qualities and achievements.

Preparing for Adulthood Programmes, which are activity-based curriculum resources that provide a real-life context to promote the development of personal, social, independent, IT and work-related skills. The programs are learner-centred, offering structure and flexibility, and provide recognition for small steps of achievement. It is suitable for learners with moderate, severe, complex, profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).

Short Courses, a programme offering a curriculum of challenges across a number of modules that accredit 10-60 hours of activity, are multi-level and can be tailored to meet the needs of the learner. These are grouped by theme: Core subjects (e.g. English, Maths, Science), informal (e.g. expressive arts, environmental, foodwise), sports and activities (e.g. sports and fitness, adventure and residential), personal and social development (e.g. beliefs and values, peer mentoring), work related (e.g. enterprise, leadership).

Lastly is the Lifeskills Challenge, an online bank of challenges for learners. It is a programme that provides personalised learning for young people with special educational needs and disabilities, as well as those with social, emotional and mental health needs. The challenges recognise learners’ progress in curriculum areas that are important for success in adult life. Tasks are generally centred in completing activities rather than acquiring a significant body of knowledge.
