Meet our Secondary teachers
Head of Secondary / Head of Humanities
Sam holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (majoring in History and International Politics) from Monash University, Melbourne, a Master of Islamic Studies (School of Social & Political Inquiry) and a Masters in Teaching (Primary-Secondary) from La Trobe University, Melbourne. He has worked in Australia, England and now the Philippines.

Deputy Head of Secondary / Head of Creative Arts
Peter holds a BA (Hons) degree in Music Production from Leeds College of Music (UK) and a PGCE teaching qualification from The University of Cumbria (UK). He has been teaching for 10 years, working in the UK and Thailand before joining the team at NAIS Manila.
Head of English/Normans House Tutor
After graduating from the University of Canterbury, Matt taught in New Zealand for two years before starting his international career in Bali. He has worked at international schools in the Philippines since 2009, during which time he has had the pleasure of working with students, teachers and families from diverse backgrounds.
Head of Science and ICT/Vikings House Tutor/STEAM Coordinator
Oliver holds a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Science from the Open University and a PGCE in Secondary Science (with Mathematics).
Head of Maths/Assessment Coordinator/SaxonsHouse Tutor
Barry obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Glasgow as well as a PGDE in Secondary Education from the University of Strathclyde.
He has been a Mathematics teacher for over ten years and has experience teaching from Year 7 to A-level Mathematics. Barry taught in Scotland and for the past 8 years have been teaching maths in Qatar with the last 4 years being the Head of Department. He believes in promoting independence among his students and encourages collaborative learning whenever possible. Preparing students to think for themselves and to investigate their own ideas is one of his main aims as a teacher. Students should always be challenged beyond their comfort zones.
Science and Maths Teacher/Saxons House Tutor
Niall holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Physiology from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, and a P.D.E. (Professional Diploma in Education) from the University of Maynooth, Ireland. He has been a teacher for five years and has worked in Ireland and Vietnam.
He has worked in Ireland for a number of years teaching all ages in both Science and Maths. Fluent in Irish (gaeilge) which he has also taught as subjects in schools as well as working in Irish language camps over my summers. He most recently worked in Hanoi, Vietnam teaching IGCSE Science in local schools.
