Dear DCIS Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to to Term 3! Orientation for new students will be from 9am-11am on Friday, 13th April 2018.
When new families first arrive, please proceed to Cooper Hall. Orientation takes about an hour, and there will be representatives from a number of our service providers, including the bus service, lunch service and Extra-Curricular Activities. Our uniform suppliers will not be present but the DCA Parent Association will be running a second-hand uniform sale in Cooper Hall.
DCIS is required to have certain forms and student/family information on file. All forms should be completed and submitted by Friday April 13th 2018, with the exception of the KAL Transport Request form which should be submitted by March 29th 2018 for bus services commencing on the first day of Term 3. The DCIS contract and Form 12 will be sent during March via DocuSign, an on-line signature system.

Guides to Classrooms |
DCIS staff will help you find your class/form teachers |
After you have registered, you will be able to meet your new class/form teacher. Teachers will be in their classrooms from 9am to 11am for parents to drop in and meet them. This is an opportunity to find out about your new class and learn about the day-to-day items in the classroom e.g. timetables, supplies, lunches, etc. There will be an opportunity to learn about the curriculum and what your child will be studying in more detail at the Parent Curriculum Evening early in the new term.
First Day of School - Monday, 16th April 2018
Full bus service will be in operation and the school hours will be:
8.30am – 3.00pm School Day
8.30am – 11.30am Optional hours for Nursery children*
*Please note that an 11.30am bus service is not available to half-day Nursery students.
All students should follow uniform guidelines. If your child is arriving by bus, members of staff will meet the buses to guide the children safely into the school. Student ID stickers are provided for the first few days of school for Primary students. If you or your helper are bringing your child, please take them straight to their classrooom.
What to Bring the First Day of School
- Regular uniform
- School hat (all children must wear school hats when playing outside)
- School bag
- School supplies - as detailed in the Parent Handbook
- Water Bottle (all students are expected to have a water bottle that they can re-fill from the several drinking water outlets around the campus)
- Snack and packed lunch (no nuts, please)
- A positive attitude and a BIG smile!

As you review events at the school in Term 3, please do plan to attend the parent coffee morning on Tuesday April 17th in the DCIS Cafe.
