On Sunday, 27th September, the British Business Group's (BBGV) 15th Annual Fun Run for Charity took place in District 7.
Living up to its reputation for being an energetic and fun-filled community event, the 2015 Fun Run did not disappoint. This was one of the largest yet, with over 10,000 runners and walkers in HCMC participating. BIS families, students and teachers were very obvious in their distinctive BIS event t-shirts.

We are extremely proud of our two prizewinning BIS students! Bailey Miller in Year 9 was the first teenager to cross the finish line followed by Ghai Siddhant in Year 11, a close second. They were very excited to collect their prizes from Douglas Barnes, HM Consul General HCMC. Along with their medals and certificates, they were also thrilled to each receive a Tissot watch.

It was also exciting to learn that one of our families were interviewed by local television station, HTV, following the run to give their impressions of what the Fun Run means to them. The Ramsay family, from Canada, were featured on the HTV9 Daily Sports News on 27 September, and will also feature on the following channels listed below:
• HTV7 8.30pm on 3 Oct 2015
• HTV2 7pm on 3 Oct 2015 – with BIS interview slot.
• An Ninh TV (AVG) 8pm on 28 Sep 2015
See if you can spot them!
BIS continues to be an ardent supporter of this annual charity focused event. All funds raised at this event benefit charities in Vietnam. This was the 15th one to be held in HCMC but it was also held for the first time in Hanoi. These combined events are anticipated to generate more than VND 900 million for local charities.
Thank you to all the BIS families that got involved in this year’s event and for helping to raise such a valuable sum of money for this year’s chosen charities.
