Animal Rescue and Care Visit Foundation Stage at Tu Xuong

24 March 2017

Animal Rescue and Care (ARC) is one of our school’s community partners and they are a fantastic organisation that helps and rescues local animals. They came to TX to share their knowledge and teach the children about caring for these lovable animals.

Tu Xuong has been lucky enough to have two visits over the past few weeks from our friends at ARC. They have been teaching the children how to care for animals and that dogs and cats really aren’t all that different to us. The children have learnt that just like them, animals need food, water, shelter, medicine, family and friends and of course lots and lots of playtime.

After lots of learning, it was time to meet some real animals, ARC brought some of their own pets for us to say hello to. All children in F1, F2 and F3 had a chance to say, “Hi” to and stroke Misty and Ziggy, the two dogs. The children were very polite, they learnt that you should always ask the owner to touch their dog first, then you should introduce yourself to the dog by letting them sniff you, and finally you can stroke them carefully.

We were also super lucky to have a real veterinary doctor come and show us some of the things he has to do to check if an animal is healthy. The children also had the chance to ask him all sorts of questions. If you too would like to know more, you can visit their website www.arcpets.com, or ask some of our Foundation Stage children what they learnt.
