Along with our Year 2 friends from TX, we all experienced the thrill of the circus last Friday.
We watched in awe at the tricks and stunts the acrobats performed, as they balanced, leaped and tumbled around the ring. Many of us held our breath as the Fire Breather demonstrated extraordinary skills and we were incredibly impressed as the hula girl spun over twenty hoops around her waist. Some of us even got the chance to attempt to ride the world’s smallest bicycle; it was incredibly tricky!
On our return to school we reflected on the different acts we saw and talked about which ones we thought we'd be good at, and the ones we would never want to try! We used photographs from the trip to explore the different ways our faces can show emotions and how to help people who may be feeling certain ways. Our time at the circus has really sparked our enthusiasm for our new topic and given the children a real-life experience that will most definitely enhance their learning.
