The exchange programme involves each school visiting the partner school twice and, in exchange, hosting the partner school twice. The aims behind the exchange programme are for students from both parties to:
Activities that students participate in are the usual curriculum activities and so give each party an insight into how everyday learning at the other school operates.
The first 2 visits have been very successful. Our hosting classes have worked with Nguyen Hien students on two activities. The first was an IPC ‘Fashion’ topic challenge where students collaborated to design a futuristic uniform. Secondly, the BIS students and their visitors investigated and built circuits together as part of their science learning. At Nguyen Hien school, students from both schools teamed up to take part in PE lessons involving various warm up activities and Kung Fu. There certainly appeared to be plenty of budding Kung Fu masters in our midst! These different interactions provided wonderful opportunities for students from both schools to learn and develop new skills together.
There are 2 further sessions planned for this partnership in Term 1 and the rest of Year 4 will meet their community partners in Term 2.
