Junior Debate Competition Final 2018

11 May 2018

This week, the Junior Campus hosted the bi-annual ‘Junior Debate Competition’ for children from Year 5 and 6. In teams of 4, the children debated some really mature topics: ‘The Olympics are a benefit to their host cities and countries’ and ‘Animal testing should be allowed’.

The children, themselves finalists after making it through the inter-class competitions, put on an amazing show! None of what they said was teacher-led, yet the research and preparation they had clearly put in was phenomenal. Each student spoke with confidence, poise and articulated themselves to a very high calibre. They made their peers, teachers and parents extremely proud and set the bar high for the next debate finalists.

Well done to the eventual winners but an even bigger congratulations to all the finalists that took part. We were all blown away!
