Celebrating the Royal Wedding at BIS HCMC

18 May 2018

It’s not every day there’s a Royal Wedding, so the Early Years and Infant Campus took the opportunity to explore traditions from British culture in a whole school celebration and dress up day. Read this post to find out what a British royal wedding looks like at the Early Years and Infant Campus.

The bunting was hanging at the front of school to signal something out of the ordinary and Years 1 and F3 arrived in assembly to find a tea party, a procession of the brides, an unusual horse and carriage ride and a Guess Who competition of teachers wedding days.

Back to the ELCs and the smells wafting through the building have been DIVINE! Scones and cucumber sandwiches and drinking English Breakfast tea in English bone china cups. Mr Anthony and Mr Ian dropped into the F3 ELC for a tea party and it was wonderful to have a mix of Year 1 and F3 offering scones and sandwiches as well as making triangle shaped cucumber sandwiches themselves.

F1 decorated their ELC with bunting and streamers for a street party and even had a go at ballroom dancing! F2 made their very own royal crowns as well as cutting and spreading to make their very own cucumber sandwiches.

Children looked wonderful and many thanks to all the parents for making such great efforts with costumes.

Wishing our UK Royal Couple Congratulations from BIS HCMC, Early Years and Infant Campus.
