British International School, HCMC at the Senior Saigon Logic Competition 2018

Senior Saigon Logic Competition 2018

On September 7, 8 Year 12 students (Seungwan Cho, Seungmin Oh, Max Choi, Joo Wan Ryu, Mee Hyang Kim, Ratul Mangal, Jina Jeon and Chae Won Oh) went to ISHCMC to take part in the Senior Saigon Logic Competition.

We were first faced with the individual round which consisted of very challenging logic-based maths questions where BIS HCMC were quite successful with Chae Won Oh coming 4th and Seung Wan Cho coming 8th overall.

Then, we had the escape round where each team had to solve interlinked questions within 60 minutes to find the criminal of a murder case. After a short break, we had the team round which also required great critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Lastly, we had a codebreakers round where a representative from each team had to identify the pattern behind a sequence of numbers and continue the sequence. We both found this round very difficult and it indeed made us use our brain to its full capacity. Overall, the competition was a great experience we all look forward to organising the Junior Logic Competition soon.
