‘Read a New Book Month’ at the Curve 21/09/2018

‘Read a New Book Month’ at the Curve 21/09/2018

We have so many great books in our collection at the Curve, both new and old, fiction and non-fiction, physical and digital, and this week our teachers have picked from a real range to illustrate what we have on offer!

These first few weeks have been really exciting and busy times in the Curve: our new library and learning space at BIS HCMC, Secondary Campus. We have been welcoming students and teachers en masse since the first day of term all keen to discover and experiment with the Curve’s new areas and facilities.

September is international ‘Read a New Book Month’ and we are working hard to encourage all students to either pick up and read a book that they might normally overlook, or perhaps finally read that book that they’ve always wanted to read, but just haven’t got round to doing so.

Over the last few weeks our teaching staff have been creating audio readings and recommendations of their favourite books in our collection for all students, and parents, to listen to and choose their new book from - one recommendation for each day of September.

This week there is certainly something for everyone’s taste in the books recommended by our teachers, from acclaimed reportage, contemporary behavioural economics, to classical children’s fiction.

So many of our teachers’ have now uploaded their book reviews for you to listen in to and help guide your reading choices throughout September’s “Read a New Book Month’. All can be accessed here, and are on prominent display for you to browse and check out in the Curve, so please click on the audio links or pop in to the Curve soon to enjoy and share in the great reading experiences on offer.
