Community Service Project Manager

We are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated and dedicated local hired expat for the position of Community Service Project Manager.

Job Purpose

To take responsibility for establishing appropriate community service opportunities for student participation and involvement.

Through a range of planned community service and fundraising activities, the school will provide appropriate opportunities for the students to develop a respectful and caring sense of social responsibility towards other people and the environment on both a local and global scale.

Job Description

  • Manage Community Service Curriculum and Extra Curricular Projects creating a balance between People, Environment and Animals focused projects – as approved by SMT
  • Oversee the provision of Community Service Projects for Early Years and Infant, Junior and Secondary campuses – managing the Community Service event calendar, support logistics, arranging transport, staff, facilities, purchasing and accounts
  • Support teachers with Risk Assessments and CHQ
  • Meet with staff, develop project proposals, gain agreement by CSPG and SMT and observe Preparation, Action, Reflection and Acknowledgement (P.A.R.A.)
  • Develop age appropriate Community Service Learning and Student Leadership schemes of work and initiate projects with Heads of Year and ECA leaders for relevant campus co-ordinators to manage
  • Embed the Community Service vision – promoting and training whole school staff and administration, and celebrating and rewarding students involvement and achievements
  • Ensuring progression of Service Learning and continuity of projects through school programme involving cross curricular and cross phase articulation
  • Meet on a regular basis with the three campus Heads and Community Service Coordinators in order to ensure consistency and continuity between new and existing projects and in keeping with campus action plans
  • Chair Community Service Project Group meetings and publish minutes
  • To oversee Community Service coordinators campus publicity through newsletters, spotlight, year book and displays.
  • Manage the Community Service resources and requisition
  • Maintain good relationships with the campus PTGs, attending meetings, communicating updates, securing their support, managing their Community Service funds and involvement in Community Projects
  • Maintain good relationships with community partners both in English and Vietnamese including meeting regularly with partners, recognising both Vietnamese and Western cultural celebrations and managing appropriateness and distribution of resources to partners
  • Develop links with existing charitable and not for profit organisations within Vietnam
  • Identify appropriate local Community Service opportunities and events
  • To lead and facilitate school involvement in FOBISIA Community Service initiatives- including disaster relief
  • To lead and facilitate school involvement with local international school Community Service events
  • Develop joint Community Service projects with schools outside of Vietnam
  • Submit a monthly Community Service report to the Principal detailing meetings, tangible leads developed, issues and successes
  • Developing Community Service links within Year Group Trips where possible
  • To keep up to date with news and developments on a local, national and global scale
  • Comprehend publications on new developments in Community Service Learning strategies and embrace where appropriate and possible
  • To fulfil any reasonable additional responsibilities as may be from time to time requested by the Principal
