I am sure that they are all giving a great account of themselves whether they are IGCSE or IB students. I would like to wish them all continued good luck for the remainder of the examinations.
On Thursday evening, I was pleased to attend the Secondary and Primary Parent Teacher Group (PTG) annual general meeting in the Secondary School Auditorium. It was well attended and it was most encouraging to hear about the achievements of the both PTGs during the year, which are numerous and impressive. I am extremely grateful to all members of the PTG for their ongoing support of the school in so many ways. I would like to thank, and give my best wishes to, any PTG members who are leaving the school at the end of this academic year.
Last weekend, I attended the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) Annual Conference which was held at the InterContinental Hotel at the O2 in London. I was actually attending the conference as a guest due to my role as Chair of FOBISIA’s Executive Board. COBIS and FOBISIA have a close working relationship with regards to supporting British Schools Overseas. The conference was an opportunity for me to experience some valuable professional development and to meet new and old colleagues from around the world.
It was a pleasure today to meet with two Year 7 students in my office. Matheo Luong and Minh Kha Tran, had done some excellent research work in Geography based on environmental issues. They did raise some serious concerns of how the actions of the human race were affecting the environment. Well done Matheo and Minh Kha on some wonderful work!
As we are all aware, Thao Dien is presently undergoing some major roadworks which are now close to the main entrance of the EY&IC. As a school, we have tried very hard to communicate with the construction company to delay any work close to the school until the summer holidays. However, the work needs to be completed within a particular timescale and will carry on. I would ask for everybody’s patience and understanding whilst this work is ongoing. Hopefully, it will benefit everyone in District 2 in the future.
I would like to wish you all a wonderful weekend.
Anthony Rowlands, Principal
