Routines are an important part of the day, so we were pleased to show parents how independent the children are when choosing their lunches, unpacking bags and settling into our morning ‘hello’ routine. Parents joined us to take part in Super Speedy Sounds and sight recognition of Red Words – the tricky words that we learn as a whole word. Then the children had a think about what they would like to show their parents and everyone set off together to explore activities, learning spaces and to get refreshed at the ‘snack bar’. All three sessions this week were well attended and it was a pleasure to see so much ‘hands on’ learning as parents got messy in ‘space slime’ and playdough, rolled marbles to create planet paintings, made pretend ‘bread’, engaged in pirate role play, among other fun learning. Many thanks to parents for joining in and for your time. We’re looking forward to the next opportunity already!
