As I reflect on this school year, I thought that the biggest challenge was going to be in Term 1 where we were visited by a team of accreditors from the Council of International Schools and the Western Academy of Schools and Colleges. Their findings were highly complementary about our school and community, and their recommendations will be particularly useful as we work together across the three campuses to plan the way forward for BIS.
Term 2 started well with our International and Tet Celebrations, but, as we all know, during the Tet Holiday, the Coronavirus pandemic began which changed everything. Thanks to the speed of the reaction of the Vietnamese authorities, the virus was largely contained in Vietnam and we are enjoying greater freedom than much of the world. However, one consequence of the pandemic was that learning had to take place at home for a substantial period of time. As educators, parents and students, the uncertainty forced us to be creative to ensure that the children could continue to make progress; it has been great to see so many of our children return and settle straight back into their routines. This time has really shown the strength and depth in our BIS community.
The School Uniform Shop at the Secondary Campus
If any parents would like to visit the Uniform Shop, you are very welcome, however we need to register all visitors to the campus and to limit the number of visitors to one at a time. If any parents would like to visit the Secondary Campus, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org (Katie) or Nguyen.Huynh@bisvietnam.com (Nguyen) at Secondary Reception who will very happily help you to make an appointment.
Due to the need for registration on entry, please allow an extra few minutes to complete this process. This includes a temperature check, hand sanitisation and completing a Health Declaration form.
For existing children, please refer to the End of Year Letter that you should have received today.
