PTG Secondary Update June 2020

The 2020 year began as a year full of radical changes, and so far, brought in a myriad of new experiences for everyone around the globe.

Returning masked to school with sanitiser bottles as your prime companion in May for the first time since the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak and a complete lockdown since February this year has been sui generis.

While there have been many uncertainties that the pandemic brought with it, it would not be unseemly to say that the foresight of the Vietnamese government and conscientious execution by our school in the period of these three months has helped us and our children sail through this much more steadily than otherwise it could have been.

Secondary PTG Meeting

Online virtual school and numerous other events to maintain social distancing became the way of life.  PTG Secondary team tried to adapt the same and organised a few events on Zoom; meeting with Mr. Carl, Mr. Sean and Mr. Rowlands, an Online Yoga session was organised for the benefit of all to encourage a healthy lifestyle, online 'Self Care according to Ayurveda' was a great success and we also held online discussions with the Community Department for a cautious plan to donate the money to our community partner Binh An Centre in being able to fulfil their request at the correct time. Find out more about this here.

We are aware that due to the limitations on large events this year a few of our fundraisers have not taken place and so we are still trying to innovate new ways to organise them to happen virtually. We look forward to your support and ideas for all this to be possible.

We are very appreciative of what we do have and what we have learned through this process. Let’s be grateful for our freedom, valuing the life and well-being of ourselves and others, and that as a community we can unite, support one another, and form a greater whole.
