Kinokuniya Visit

Miss Dimple and Ms Kerry had the opportunity to visit Kinokuniya at Emquartier this week and enjoyed choosing lots of new books for the Primary School Library. We were able to buy 48 great books for all age ranges in a mix of genres using the commission which we received from the June Book Fair. Thanks to you all for your amazing support of this event and to Kinokuniya for letting us loose in the bookstore.

It is quite possible that we could gain even more commission to spend from our next Book Fair which will take place in November - see the Save the Date reminder below - and we are beginning to get rather excited about this now.

The new books should be delivered and on the shelves soon.

Library Monitors

Our Library Monitors started their duties on Monday and helped with checking books in and out and also helped some of the younger children to find books on the computer and then locate them on the shelves. They also helped to manage the Makerspace activities and oversaw general library use proudly wearing their badges of office.

Book Fair - Save the Date

Reminder: Our next Book Fair will take place during the week commencing 26 November and we invite you to start letting us have any books - in good condition please - for our popular Used Book sale which will take place throughout the week. More details of which bookstores/vendors will be attending during the week and which charity we will be supporting with the proceeds from the sale of used books will be coming soon.

Competition Time - Design a Poster

Our ‘Design a Poster’ flyers are now posted up around the school and children are beginning to think about their designs and get creative. If you aren’t sure how this will work please see the reminder below:

Reminder: We are looking for our students to show their creative talent and skills to design a poster for the Library wall The freshly-painted long wall in the Early Years corner is looking a bit empty and so we would like to decorate it with children’s work. We have decided to run a competition for all age groups to design a poster showing their favourite book or book character. We would like this to be as colourful as possible and created on white A4 or A3 size paper. All entrants will receive house points and their designs will go forward for judging. The winners will see their work turned into beautiful large format posters which will be displayed on the Library wall for everyone to see. How exciting! Please encourage your children to come and talk to us in the

Library about how they can take part in this fun activity which can be worked on in the library and at home. Closing date for entries will be Friday 28 September.
