Eighth grade language arts students honored victims of the Holocaust in a STEAM project unlike any other. Students selected items that reflected the memories and lives of those lost and began a crystallization process to preserve and transform them using Borax and water. Students then worked to curate the exhibit and write memoirs from the point of the view of their selected items.
The Village School was well represented at the District PSIA meet March 3, 2018 with a total of 58 individual awards. Our Village team of combined elementary and middle school students came in 2nd place with a total of 30 State Qualifiers. Our elementary students (which includes 5th grade) came in 1st for the team.
The middle school One Act Play team competed at the PSIA One Act Play competition at Foster High School February 23 with their performance of The Curious Savage. The performance placed second in the competition and multiple cast members won individual awards.
The Village School is excited to announce that five of our students are featured in the 2017 Creative Writing & Visual Arts Anthology from Nord Anglia Education.
The Village School participated in the 2017 Texas Private School Music Educators Association Instrumental State Solo & Ensemble Competition at the Fort Worth Country Day School recently.
The Village School students visited Chief Resilience Officer Stephen Costello on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 to discuss flooding in Houston, as part of the challenge released by MIT.
The Village School's, Kaila D. and Keagan T., along with 31 other area children and teens, have been cast and will represent Wildfish Theatre Company at the Junior Theatre Festival in Sacramento, CA February 9-13, 2017.
