Zahra will serve as our student leader for the remainder of the school year during which time she will lead our MUN Co-Curricular Activity, look to help our delegates prepare for future conferences and consider how to arrange conferences here at BISB in the future. Zahra has provided us with a short statement on her appointment and her views on Model United Nations.
"Model United Nations is a way to become an active, more concerned global citizen in this era of globalisation where being globally aware is more important than ever. Furthermore, MUN builds confidence, leadership and diplomatic skills and it is an exercise in research, public speaking and teamwork. Today, this is more important than ever. We are the future of our world and I think it is very important that today’s generation is trained in a way where we are trusted to make life-changing decisions. Being appointed as Secretary General, I feel honoured to be leading the process of training with my fellow MUN delegates, working together and making decisions in my fellow delegates' and BISB MUN’s best interests. I am also honoured to pass on the knowledge of MUN I have gained from four years of involvement to the fellow members of BISB MUN, some of whom are new and are still learning the mechanisms and values of Model United Nations as, in a way, am I."
