Humanities Week for Secondary students at BISB

Next week is Humanities week. Throughout the year we have had themed weeks here at BISB including Maths week; Languages week; English week and now as a build up to Earth Day on Sunday 22nd April we will celebrate Humanities week.

Throughout the week our students will be given a diverse set of challenges during registration, morning break and at lunchtime. Challenges will include ‘Higher or Lower’ where we make use of incredible data tracking software to consider our impact on the planet, a ‘Speakers Corner’ where students will give meaningful talks and presentations on humanitarian topics and an exciting guest speaker, Mr Richard Jonap, an expert trader and financial blogger will talk to our students.

Our centrepiece event will be a week-long trading game where students will compete as form groups to invest, divest and ultimately trade various commodities where historical and current events will determine market prices daily. A cumulative trade total will be kept throughout the week and on Friday the savviest investors will receive the grand prize.

Buy low, sell high and hope that events work in your favour!
