The Hungarian National Swim competitions took place last week after having to be rescheduled from earlier in the year.
Nils Noordhuis (Year 11) qualified for seven races, and also for the team relay. The races were held on four consecutive days and he swam seven personal best times!
Nils started swimming competitively when he was 6 years old. His favourite stroke is backstroke. He trains each day before and after school in the Duna Arena with his team Iron Swim (led by Katinka Hosszu). He regularly spends about 16 hours a week in the water and 5 hours in the gym. As you can imagine it is often difficult to find a balance between finishing homework for IGCSE, training and getting enough sleep (and food). But Nils’s hard work has paid off and we would like to congratulate him on these great results. Well done Nils.
