On Monday, our Year 12 students made excellent use of this opportunity to exhibit their ideas, and in doing so, completed the first piece of assessed work for theory of knowledge.
Students were asked to choose from 35 prescribed ‘prompts’ and then exhibit three artefacts connected to that prompt, explaining their curation in 950 words. Whilst the actual exhibition of work will not add to the overall marks awarded, the effort put into the presentation by many students was to be highly commended.
There were some striking connections between a Lego set and a map of Singapore, a padlock and a childhood photograph, and Ibsen’s a Doll’s House and the population pyramid of China in 2020. Our students improved their understanding of this complex field immeasurably due to their excellent engagement with this event, and we look forward to offering next year’s Year 12 a similar opportunity.
