Year 8 students have been studying Romantic poetry in English. Inspired by the work of William Blake, they have written and illustrated their own ‘Songs of Innocence and Experience’. Here are some examples from Greta and Siri.

When was the time?
The time we’d be just as innocent as flowers.
We’d do things without desire
The flame was lit in our soul
Now that our lives are so so dull
Where’d that flame go?
Now that flame is dead
We can make mistakes, we said
We’ve grown wise and mature
Now we must face a door, a door that that’s locked for now.
