In Year 6, we have been working on the Y.E.S. (Young Entrepreneur Scheme) project, where we have all been divided into 13 ‘companies’. We elect a group leader, create a company name and then design and make a product to sell.
We then conduct market research surveys, prepare a business plan and then pitch our ideas to get a business loan. We organise the sourcing of our materials and then make and produce our product. We also need to make a marketing campaign whereby we make posters and a television advert. Finally, we decorate our stall, which will be in the reception area and sell our products.
All money raised is donated to a charity. Our group "The Pigeons" are going to take old crayons, melt them down in a mixture of colours and place them into moulds to then sell as a new product. We want to give new life to something no longer being used or wanted.
We would like to ask for donations of old or broken wax crayons. If you have any at home that you could donate, please could you drop these off in the box left at Reception.
