Year 5 had a very memorable and exciting experience in the Secondary Science lab this week as they dissected a goose heart with Mrs Catallo.
Students were able to build upon their own understanding of how the circulatory system works as part of their Healthy Habits topic. They used tools to dissect the heart and found different parts such as chambers, vessels and even heartstrings! Thank you to the Secondary Science department for inviting us and offering such a valuable experience.
Alex - "I will always remember that the heart can still beat after the animal died"
Nicole - "I was surprised by the strength of the left side of the heart."
Liliana - "I was surprised by its size. It fit in my hand."
