This week has seen the final Futsal training session of the season culminating in a Girls’ Futsal Final between Fried Frogs and South Kiscelli Association. What makes this fixture unique is that since January the training sessions, formations and team selection have been prepared and carried out by our CAS students; Sara, Sophie, Helena, Judy, Anna and Keira.
They have based the sessions on the needs of their teams and gained an understanding of what is needed to prepare, communicate and carry out full Futsal training sessions. The highlight of all this work was today’s highly anticipated game, which has been building in excitement and expectation. Both our coaches and players were in from 7 am to collect kits, give team talks and warm up before our kick-off.
The game was a great celebration of the training that has occurred over these last couple of months. Both teams started off sprightly with end to end action. Fried Frogs took the lead in the first half, but just before the break, South Kiscelli Association were able to pull the scores level. In the second half, both teams grew in confidence and passes were more free-flowing. Fried Frogs came out as the winners in the end. I am so proud of all that were involved, from the players to the coaches, and having members of staff come and watch our game was the cherry on top.

Following the postponement of Journey’s End before Christmas, we are pleased to announce the new dates.
Year 9 have been showing their green fingers/thumbs by trying to germinate cress seeds under various conditions, to see what is important for the seed growth.
There was more basketball on Saturday. This time our U14 Girls A and B teams had their DVAC Festival here at BISB.
