As part of their topic on Electricity, Year 8 were given a selection of fruits and vegetables, some different types of metal, wires and clips, and a voltmeter.
The task was simply to make electricity. By changing one of the variables (the fruit or metal) they found what effect that change would have on the voltage – if any. One of the groups managed to get to 2.5V by using five lemons in a row (in series).
