Our wonderful GCSE Art and Design students recently completed their coursework projects. We are very proud of what they have accomplished over the past two years. They began by looking at Mechanical Forms and using a variety of drawing materials combined with textured paper backgrounds.
From there they moved to a project that examined a timeline of the Architectural styles of Budapest, such as the Roman Amphitheatre in Buda to contemporary architecture such as MUPA. They then moved on to personal projects such as Facades, Sliced and Diced, and Textural Contrasts, experimenting with a wide variety of media such as watercolour, acrylic, charcoal, pen, ink and mixed media.
They faced numerous challenges during virtual learning and were resourceful in how they continued to work from home to complete their projects. Here is a showcase of their original work to celebrate their achievement as artists. I would like to congratulate them on completing such a variety of original artworks that reflect each of their unique perspectives of local and global contexts, as well as historical and contemporary practices.
