Last Thursday, members of Roots and Shoots went foraging in Kiscelli woods for some elderflowers to make cordial. We followed a recipe to make syrup using water and sugar at lunch.
After school, we collected our elderflowers, helping each other to reach the higher flowers, then added lemons, citric acid and the flowers to the syrup we made earlier. We had to leave it overnight and then strain it - it was sticky work. Look out for our upcoming sale at school to raise funds for the humanitarian crisis. There are plenty more to find so you could always try making your own at home!
