Two of our Year 9 students tell us about some of their experiences from their Residential Trip to Sopron, from exploring the city, visiting museums and hiking in the surrounding area.
After a wonderful night's sleep, we woke up at 7 am for a delicious breakfast before setting off by bus. The trip was an amazing experience and the tour guide spoke to us about all the buildings and their history. Within the city circle, we got the opportunity to see all the cathedrals, statues and the house of the King of Sopron. We also climbed the fire tower which had a phenomenal view before a 45-minute lunch break of delicious sandwiches, an energy bar, an apple and water. After lunch, we went to the Museum which was very interesting as we got to see all the fancy dresses that the women wore and it also helped us to understand the development of technology over time. After the city circle, we went to the chocolate factory and got to see how it was made, and even bought some for our families. After we came back to the hotel, we ate some delicious dinner, went to a nearby park, and played games. It was truly a memorable day and an amazing experience.
Deshika Poorna, Year 9
Today was our first day on our amazing trip to Sopron. We all hopped on the bus in the morning and got to the hotel around mid-day where we had a lunch of pasta, rice, chicken, pork and chips. We then took the bus to an adventure park where we were separated into two groups. Unfortunately, we had some rain and had to change our plans but we still managed to go on our hike. Our lovely guides showed us around and we saw the forest from the top of a lookout; it was beautiful and the rain made it even more mystical. We then hiked back to the hotel where we had a lovely dinner of meat, potatoes, rice, soup and more. We then got to spend time relaxing in our rooms or playing games before the end of the day.
