On Wednesday 21st of September, our U14 Girls’ team travelled to the AISB to play in their first fixture. We ended up winning 11-2, an excellent achievement, given this is largely a new team. Many players received their first starting roles within the team, and three students received their first call-up into the squad. It shows how regular training sessions and the hard work the girls have put into building our team are now paying off. The team played with the speed of touch and thought and an understanding of their roles within the team. We did the basic things right, paying off with a massive scoreline. Mr Moruzzi and I are incredibly proud of our team and look forward to future games and tournaments.

On Friday 16th the U19 Girl’s Football team had their first fixture of the season, played at AISB. In the end one goal was the difference in what was a very exciting game. We may have been on the wrong side of the score, but the girls played a fantastic match, and I felt very proud of their performance.
In the first half, the wolves went 1-0 up thanks to some lovely build-up play from the left in which Helena (Year 13) hit a thunderbolt of a shot. There were numerous other chances as well, but thanks to a strong goalkeeping display from the AISB goalkeeper, we could not get ourselves in front. In the end, we conceded two goals, and the game finished 2-1.
