On Monday we announced our winners for the Global Campus Digital Habitat competition. Fifteen students entered, either individually or as part of a team, to create a protective habitat for endangered animals. There was a huge amount of effort put in by the students; they had to build their habitat from a flat, empty world; add everything that the species would need – from shelter to food sources, prey to play areas and mating zones to water needs; research their animal to understand their needs and also provide a voiceover to introduce and present the habitat they had made. Three runner-up entries were selected: Esme (Year 4) on axolotls, Jasmyne (Year 3) on pandas and Somin / Haeon (year 6) also on axolotls. Our winning school entry, which has been submitted as our school entry to the Global Campus, was by Lena and Lilia in Year 6, focusing on the habitat of ocelots.
Congratulations to everyone who took part, it was lovely watching all the habitats created to protect endangered animals.

In Year 7, students are having fun with digital art inspired by the De Stijl movement, learning about artists such as Piet Mondrian.
