Spring is irrevocably here! The weather is wonderful, and nature is renewing itself and bringing us all kinds of delicacies! Taking advantage of this, we have been treating our students and their teachers to fresh strawberries every week for two weeks now. And who can resist this mouth-watering, fresh, juicy, sweet fruit?
But strawberries are not just delicious; they also have several benefits. For example, it is high in vitamin C. One serving of strawberries (5-6 medium-sized pieces) provides half your daily vitamin C needs. The good news, especially for ladies, is that Vitamin C intake also affects collagen production, so strawberries can also help us fight wrinkles.
The antioxidants it contains help our bodies, including our eye health, but also help reduce inflammation.
Its fiber content helps the digestive system function properly and benefits insulin production.
Fun fact: The exciting thing about strawberries is that this plant, which belongs to the rose family, does not have a fruit, but we eat the pseudo-fruit that develops from the flower. That said, it can compete with any fruit.
Last but not least, our Chef has a few delicious new dishes for you this week too: refreshing and delicious Cucumber Soup and an amazing Gorgonzola Pork Chop with Pasta. We hope that our students will like this dishes, too! We are excited to hear your feedback!
