News | School News | School Activities Girls D2 Volleyball Team Clinch 4th Place in the Region
The team finished the season with a record of 4-3 overall. The players clinched 4th place in the region and earned their place in the SISAC Volleyball Cup Championship, hosted by SCIS Hongqiao on Saturday 28 October. The tournament brought the BISS Lions up against Concordia, DCS Pudong and Wellington. We didn’t claim victory during the event, but the Lions gave their opponents some tough competition.

During their Geography Rivers and Tourism field trip, Years 10 and 11 students engaged in a comprehensive exploration of both the natural and human aspects of the landscape. The primary focus of their journey was to investigate the geomorphology of a river, examining how its characteristics change as it traverses from the upper course to the lower course. This involved utilising various methods, such as assessing river velocity, gradient, bedload size and shape, wetted perimeter, width, and depth. To aid in their investigations, students employed a range of equipment, including ranging rods, metre sticks, clinometers, measuring tape, and callipers.

On Friday 20 October, the Year 9 Mandarin classes visited the Shanghai Film Studio together, which is situated in Shanghai's Songjiang District. During the visit, the students explored fully reconstructed scenic areas such as "Southern Streets" and realistic settings such as "1930s Nanjing Road" and "Shanghai Lane Residences", which provide ideal locations for film and television production. Over 30 films and several hundred episodes of television series have been filmed at this site.
