BSG Guangzhou Scholarships 2024/25
Our introduction to poetry had us ponder the all-important question: 'What is Poetry?' It turns out that there is no simple way to describe poetry! However, when students were asked what comes to mind when they think of poetry, they came up with words such as 'beauty, rhythm, imagery, and creativity.'
What better way to explore poems than to listen to poets read and perform their work? Students were transported into another world as they listened to poems about SPACE. Then, there were poets who left students laughing heartily, such as Michael performing his poem 'Hot Foot.' Finally, the poem by Benjamin titled 'Pencil in Me' was very moving and left us all wondering how a 'simple pencil' can sound so magical. Excitingly, there is plenty in store over the coming weeks when students will perform their own poems. For now, we have been impressed by the courage shown by many when attempting to read poems shared in classes this week.
The British School of Guangzhou hosted the final of the BSG Young Musician Award which took place in the BSG Theatre from 19.00 – 20.30 on the 23rd of November.
