Young Changemakers Come Together to Make the Invisible Visible

The British School of Guangzhou (BSG) was proud to host the NAE China Social Impact & EDIB Conference 2026, welcoming students and educators from 10 Nord Anglia schools across China for an inspiring weekend of collaboration, leadership and action.

Centred around this year's theme, Making the Invisible, Visible, the conference challenged students to explore how they can create meaningful change within their schools, communities and the wider world. Through workshops, discussions, service activities and project development, participants examined real-world issues and discovered how young people can become powerful agents of change.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Throughout the conference, students explored the connection between leadership, sustainability and social responsibility. Working alongside peers from different schools and backgrounds, they shared ideas, challenged perspectives and developed solutions to issues that matter to their communities.

A key focus of the event was the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. Students considered how everyday choices can contribute to a more sustainable future and explored ways to inspire positive action within their own schools.

The conference also featured contributions from members of Nord Anglia's Global 100 student leadership programme, who shared their own experiences of delivering impactful projects and creating change in their communities.

Turning Ideas into Impact

One of the highlights of the conference was the opportunity for students to transform ideas into practical action. Through collaborative workshops and community-focused activities, participants designed initiatives they can now implement within their own schools.

From sustainability campaigns and fundraising projects to student-led awareness initiatives, the conference encouraged every participant to think about how they can make a lasting difference. The experience reinforced an important message: positive change begins when individuals are willing to take action.

Building a Global Community of Leaders

While the conference focused on social impact and EDIB (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging), it also provided a valuable opportunity for students to build friendships and connections across the Nord Anglia family of schools.

By bringing together young leaders from across the region, the event created a vibrant platform for collaboration, cultural exchange and shared learning. Students left not only with new ideas and skills but also with a stronger network of peers who share a commitment to making a positive difference.

A Proud Moment for BSG

Hosting the NAE China Social Impact & EDIB Conference reflects BSG's commitment to developing socially responsible, globally minded students who are prepared to shape a better future.

As participants returned to their schools, they took with them new perspectives, practical plans and a renewed sense of purpose. We look forward to seeing how these young changemakers continue to lead initiatives that create positive impact in their communities and beyond.

Because the leaders of tomorrow are already making a difference today.
