Agnieszka Golczyk

Head of Modern Foreign Languages
Agnieszka Golczyk - Agnieszka Golczyk
Agnieszka graduated from Hull University with a BA in Modern Languages and an MA in Translation Studies and TESOL. She began her career in England, working for many years as an interpreter and translator before moving to China in 2014. Shortly after arriving, she joined BSG, where over nine years she obtained her iPGCE, taught Modern Foreign Languages, and served as Head of the MFL department.

In recent years, Agnieszka took a step back from full-time work to focus on family, while continuing to develop professionally by working as an iGCSE/GCSE examiner for major UK exam boards.

Agnieszka’s teaching style is engaging and interactive, often incorporating fast-paced games, physical group activities, and technology to enhance learning. Her lessons feature students collaborating on culture-based projects, filming vlogs, singing, and even cooking traditional Spanish dishes. As Head of MFL, she championed the promotion of languages through school-wide events such as UNESCO Mother Tongue Day, the MFL Christmas Bake Off, and the MFL House Singing Competition.

Outside the classroom, Agnieszka runs a blog about family-friendly places in and around Guangzhou and enjoys exploring the city on her bicycle.
