Andy Dean brings with him 23 years of international teaching experience, having worked across China, Myanmar, Cambodia, Kazakhstan, Kenya, and the United Kingdom. He is delighted to be returning to China and to rejoin the British School Guangzhou community, where he previously taught from 2014 to 2018.
A passionate and experienced Physical Education teacher, Andy holds an undergraduate degree in Physical Education from University College Chichester. Throughout his career, he has taught students from Nursery through to A Level, developing a deep understanding of how to inspire learners of all ages.
Andy is committed to helping every student achieve their potential and believes that physical activity should be a positive and enjoyable part of life. His goal is to ensure students are excited about exercise, develop confidence in their abilities, and discover activities they can enjoy for a lifetime. He loves working with children of all ages and is passionate about creating an environment where students are challenged, learn new skills, achieve success, and, most importantly, have fun along the way.
Beyond the classroom, Andy is looking forward to supporting and enhancing students’ overall wellbeing through a vibrant extracurricular programme. Outside of school, he enjoys undertaking endurance challenges, reading, and spending time with his young family. He is excited to reconnect with the BSG community and contribute to its continued success.
