Chan-Mee joins The British School of Guangzhou following a teaching career in London, where she focused on curriculum planning and preparing students for their GCSE and A Level examinations. Having completed her university degree in Economics and Finance at the University of Hong Kong and her PGCE at University College London, she is deeply passionate about teaching both Business and Economics to students.
Throughout her career, Chan-Mee has worked to support student progress by making core concepts accessible and concrete in real world contexts. She prioritises making complex ideas understandable for all learners, enabling them to apply their knowledge effectively so they can approach their examinations with confidence. By grounding the basics clearly, she is able to stretch students further. She challenges them to evaluate the effectiveness of macroeconomic policies or the efficiency of different market structures, helping them develop strong analytical and debating skills.
She is excited to join the community at BSG and to bring her background to the Business and Economics department, combining personal roots and studies in Asia with professional experience and training in the UK. Ultimately, her goal is to help students think critically about the shifting factors shaping businesses and the global economy. She aims to equip them with a strong business and economic understanding and the reasoning skills necessary for future success in higher education or their careers.
